We're back! And this time we're going nautical. This has been a concept that we've wanted to do since the start. Our love of the sea comes from our childhood roots of sailing and fishing. This marks the start of a new era for Joker and the Thief.

Introducing Joker and the Thief's SEAFARERS Playing Cards! From the darkest depths, from the furthest horizons.They come, great travellers of the sea. Sailing for eternity on strange waters. The Joker and the Thief Return.

Following the success of the Joker and the Thief reprints, we have decided we want to focus on more original designs heading into the future. Since the beginning of our brand, we have developed a list of themes that we've wanted to explore. Nautical is one of them, and the perfect opportunity arose when we began collaborating with Gustavo Magalhaes. As a passionate artist hailing from Brazil, Gus was keen to bring the concept to life and carry the symbolism, characters and vibe over to Seafarers.

We wanted to create a classic deck of cards reminiscent of vintage United States Playing Card Co. designs. We intentionally went this route because of how classic designs survive the test of time. Gus was instrumental in striking the balance between classic design and our signature vibe.

THE BASIS OF QUALITY
Our Crushed Performance stock begins life as two sheets of FSC-Certified paper. They are passed through a press with a black glue core sticking them together. We specify a higher pressure than normal during this process. This results in a remarkably thin stock with superior handling, while retaining the durability our decks are known for.

THE FINISHING TOUCH
We utilise a special finish on the surface of our cards. It is applied to the paper's surface by linen rollers, creating dimples that form air pockets between each card. This allows your playing cards to glide and spread with absolute ease.

BETWEEN THE CARDS
All of our decks feature Anti-Cheat Glue Core Technology. Sandwiched between each card is a black glue, fusing both sheets of FSC-Certified Paper that forms our stock. This is a security feature that ensures any one card remains opaque when held up to bright light. Fair Play!
